Introduce

Tainan's Tourism Bureau held the 2025 Gender-Friendly Accommodation Certification, B&B Management Covenant, and Campsite Signage Presentation 2025 Gender-Friendly Accommodation Certification, B&B Management Covenant, and Campsite Signage Presentation Ceremony at Tainpang Hotel. Deputy Mayor Yeh Tse-shan presented the awards on behalf of Mayor Huang Wei-che, recognizing accommodation and campsite operators for creating safe, reassuring, and inclusively welcoming environments — marking a new milestone for Tainan tourism.

Deputy Mayor Yeh noted that Tainan's rich cultural heritage, natural scenery, and diverse agri-leisure experiences have made its quality hotels and B&Bs a hallmark of Tainan tourism. Mayor Huang Wei-che emphasized wanting visitors to feel so welcome they keep coming back. The Bureau's Gender-Friendly Certification and Campsite Signage initiatives respond to market demand for diverse accommodation and outdoor recreation. Deputy Mayor Yeh thanked the Tainan B&B Cultural Development Association, hotel trade guilds, and camping association for their support in building a safe, respectful, and inclusive tourism environment.

Bureau Director Lin Kuo-hua reported that 36 accommodations passed the rigorous inaugural Gender-Friendly Certification — assessed by academic experts across spatial facilities, service quality, staff training, and gender policy. An additional 33 B&Bs earned the Management Covenant Badge this round, demonstrating commitment to community integration and sustainable operations.

As camping has surged in popularity, the Bureau proactively ensures outdoor recreation safety and quality. Thirteen campsites in Tainan have completed registration, and Tainan is first among the six special municipalities to issue campsite signage — making it easier for visitors to identify legal, safe camping sites. Director Lin hopes campgrounds and accommodation establishments together will become twin draws that keep more visitors staying overnight in Tainan.

Director Lin added that the Gender-Friendly Certification, B&B Management Covenant, and Campsite Signage are all tailored support measures for Tainan operators. He welcomed more accommodation and campsite businesses to join, working together toward making Tainan the most sustainable and inclusive premier travel destination.
