Introduce
The Hutoupi Scenic Area in Xinhua District, Tainan City, was the first reservoir in Taiwan. The hardware has been progressively upgraded in recent years to provide visitors with a more comfortable and accessible recreational environment suitable for all ages. The newly completed Discovering Camping Area, Rain Tree Square, Sanliting Square, Hoop Pine Square and two public restroom facilities were completed this year. Since they were opened a little over a month ago, many schools and groups have booked these as the venues for their Lunar New Year excursion, and children's long weekend activities. Many community groups have made this their first choice for hosting events as well.
Mayor Huang Wei-che said that Hutoupi is a reservoir scenic area rich in history and ecology. Flower-watching walks, fishing competitions, Mid-Autumn BBQ, pet walks, cross-Hutoupi swims and Valentine Day Secret Code events were Held here last year. In recent years, leisure attractions for all ages, restoration of Xinhua Shinto Shrine, renovation of the round-island wooden walkway and other leisure facilities were progressively completed over the past few years to revitalize this old scenic area. People are welcome to come experience the family friendly, age-friendly and accessible facilities at Hutoupi.
Director-General Lin Kuo-Hua from the Tourism Bureau said that the east bank of Hutoupi Scenic Area recently completed almost a year of hardware upgrades. The Hu Pi Fan Yuan eco-leisure facilities and east bank bike path have now fully opened to the public. The accessibility facilities, pedestrian/vehicle separation measures, and enhanced vehicle routes were upgraded as well. The park design trimmed the existing trees in the park, preserved all of the bushes, and used the peninsular on the south bank of Hutoupi to create landscaping that combines mountains, forests, and the water side. Water spaces and micro-habitats were created so that the general public can observe the eco-diversity of Hutoupi at close range. People can also cruise through the forests and ponds to bask in the natural beauty of the mountain.
The Discovery Camping Area is equipped with power sockets and water sources. People can camp out on the lawn and enjoy the beauty of Spring. BBQ ordering service is offered by Hutoupi Scenic Area so you can enjoy the fun of cooking with fire outdoors. The cool spring season is an excellent time for camping at Hutoupi Scenic Area. The fishing area is on the east bank has been reopened again so you can visit the park and experience the fun of fishing. You can ride the bicycle or peddle boat to lose yourself on a spring journey filled with warmth. Alternatively, visit the gift shop selling local gifts. Most of Tainan’s high quality souvenirs can be found here. Tourists can therefore have fun but purchase half-price status and return home to share the souvenirs with friends and relatives. Hutoupi is launching a series of promotional events. Romantic couples who enter the park hand-in-hand before March 14 and say the secret password “1314” will receive free admission for one person in a group of two (not applicable to groups). You are all welcome to hang up a love locket on March 14.
