The “2024 ~ 2025 Taiwan Hot Springs - Golden Spring Awards” sponsored by the MOTC Tourism Administration consisted of seven award categories chosen on the basis of field surveys by experts and public voting. At the award ceremony held today (3rd), Guanziling Hot Spring won the awards for “Best Landscaping Aesthetics” and “Best Tourism Recommendation. The awards were accepted by Lin Hsieng-Tang, President of the Tainan Hot Springs Association. Tainan City Mayor Huang Wei-che thanked the experts, academics, and the public for recognizing the effort invested towards the overall landscaping at Guanziling Hot Springs so that visitors can relax their eyes and minds. He hoped this will encourage people to continue visiting Guanziling as well. Tainan City Government had previously won five top awards at the 2025 Taiwan Festival Tourism Awards. These included high distinction award for accommodation evaluation, high distinction tourism and recreational industry supervision & evaluation, gold award for tourism, award for contribution to sustainable tourism, and outstanding tourism personnel at government agencies. The many awards recognized the City Hall’s efforts on improving the quality of tourism development.

Mayor Huang said that the Guanziling Hot Spring Area is famous for its 100 year-old mud hot springs, barrel chicken, and natural beauty. The City Hall team has continued to make improvements to hardware and software including the tourism environment and marketing as well. The improvements include road upgrades, and slope soil & water conservation works. Collaborations with the Siraya National Scenic Administration, Tainan Hot Spring Association, Guanziling Community Development Association, Guanziling Commercial District Development Committee, and local businesses to promote diversification of tourism development. The construction of accessible spaces, hosting of hot spring & food events, and improvement of the international travel environment all helped the Guanziling Hot Spring Area rise above its peers to become a popular travel destination.

Director-General Lin Kuo-Hua of the Tourism Bureau noted that City Hall will continue upgrading the hardware facilities and software services at Guanziling in a bid to craft an even higher standard of hot spring tourism. In recent years, the City Hall has successfully raised more than NT$100 million in funding for upgrading the Hot Spring Old Street, Biyun Park, and Fire and Water Spring. Improvements are also being made to the Xiuzitou Riverside Park, the Japanese landscaped garden at Baoquan Park, the landscaping at hot spring sources, the water intake at Budomingwang Temple, and the pedestrian environment. Transportation-wise, the general public can take the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Dongshan Coffee Route to enjoy the coffee on 175 Coffee Road. In addition, City Hall has been hosting the “Guanziling Hot Spring Festival” for 20 consecutive years. Marketing targeting off-peak tourism successfully extended the peak season while also boosting the draw of local food and scenic resources.

The Guanziling Hot Spring Area is now suitable for tourism all year round. It’s now early spring so recommended hiking routes including Biyun Fire Spring, Mt. Jilong, Mt. Dadong, and Mt. Kantou. Stop by Fire and Water Spring, Huoshan Biyun Temple, and Dasian Temple and other sights along the way to admire the beauty of nature. At the end of the hike, head over to the hot spring area to soak the mud spring, feast on barrel chicken, and enjoy local mountain delicacies to thoroughly relax and unwind.
