The Hong Kong charity Dreamer Angel organized the “Dreamers’ Journey 2025” as a three-day, two-night to Tainan for children with disabilities from February 21 to 23. A press conference was held this morning (2/23) at the Ten-Drum Cultural Village to thank all the Taiwanese and Hong Kong units involved in the success of the charity journey. The entire group of 200 including close to 50 children with disabilities, their families, volunteers and health professionals traveled to Tainan for the “Dreamers’ Journey.” Tainan City Mayor Huang Wei-che, Director-General Lin Kuo-hua from the Tourism Bureau of Tainan City Government, Director Huang Mei-chih of Ten-Drum Cultural Village, CEO Chang Wei-ming of Wanpi Zoo Foundation, Director Yen Hsiang-Chao of Tsou Ma Lai Farm, Manager Wu Ya-chun of Fushin Hotel, and Special Assistant Wang Shih-yun from Legislator Lin Chun-Yi’s Office were also on-hand to provide moral support to the visiting children with disabilities, their families, and volunteers. Mayor Huang even presented souvenirs to welcome the charity organization to Tainan once again for this very meaningful disabled travel event. He hoped that the journey will make the participating children and volunteers feel loved and supported, and that they can one day take flight, transform, grow and enjoy the rewards.

Children taking part in the event said they never imagined that would one day get to fly on an airplane. They were delighted at having this dream come true. During the 3-day and 2-night trip, the group visited Tsou Ma Lai Farm, Wanpi Zoo, and Ten-Drum Cultural Village where they took part in various interactive games and experiences. They also toured beautiful Tainan with their families, experienced the relaxed atmosphere, enjoyed the hospitality of Tainan, and went home with wonderful memories.

Mayor Huang added that as the first city to be founded in Taiwan, Tainan is rich in historical, cultural, and natural sights. The weather and people of Tainan are very warm and welcoming as well, making it well-suited to hosting such a caring event. He hoped that tour members can feel relaxed and rested. He also encouraged more people from Hong Kong to visit Tainan to enjoy its relaxed and hospitable urban atmosphere.

Director-General Lin Kuo-hua of the Tourism Bureau said that Tainan City has many tourism resources. The Tourism Bureau is continuing to develop different travel products and supporting measures for different types of tourism and groups. He thanked Dreamer Angel, the Hong Kong charity, for choosing Tainan as the destination for its Dreamers’ Journey initiative on many occasions since 2016. City Hall will work even harder to mentor the tourism industry on making improvements of disabled travel services so that more disabled people can travel across Tainan and collect beautiful memories.

Sunny Fok, the chief executive of the Dreamer Angel charity group and organizer of the event, said that Tainan’s good weather and tourism environment are well suited to families with disabilities. A family excursion with nearly fifty disabled children is not easy to organize due to all the details involved. Fok was very grateful to all the units for their support and assistance in making the latest Dreamers’ Journey a success. He also thanked volunteers for donating their time and expressed his respect for the parents of each angel for their love. He hoped to help more families with disabilities visit Tainan in the future. The city offers a welcoming environment where people can relax. Students can also build up their self-confidence and verify the skills they have mastered. This will in turn inspire them to pursue their dreams and ambitions. The building of stronger family bonds will fill them with positivity as well.
