Introduce
Dujia Settlement derives from the Qius’ family. So far, it is the most completely preserved single surname lineal settlement. Migration from China, ancestors settlemed and multiplied there to form a settlement. In fact, it is the miniature of early immigrants migrating to Tainan.
The milkfish used to be the major output of the settlement. Today, people culture pure female flathead grey mullets (to make mullet roes) with an area of over 250 hectare, outputting over 30% of Taiwan’s mullet roes.
As the first of the kind, the Dujia Settlement Artefacts Museum was established on December 19, 2004 and operated as a community museum to present the settlement’s cultural diversity.
