Kanding Fu-an Temple(崁頂福安宮)

Traveler rating:4.5 184 Reviews

Sunday:06:00 – 18:00

Kanding Fu-an Temple(崁頂福安宮) is the only Land God temple in Taiwan to enshrine the Land God of the Three Worlds (Heaven, the Earth and human world). Due to the belief in his power, more than 40,000 statues of the god Fu De Zheng Shen (Right God of Blessing and Virtue, God of Earth) are spread across Taiwan to share this power. Fu-an Temple ranks alongside Fu-an Temple in Checheng, Pingdong and New Taipei City’s Hongludi Land God Temple(屏東車城及新北市烘爐地土地公廟) in terms of popularity and number of believers. As the temple is situated on the east side of Tainan’s highest mountain, the Dadong Mountain(大凍山) on fine days the entire Jia-nan Plain can be viewed from the platform in the square in front of the temple. When the temple is shrouded in clouds and mist it’s like being in a magical place with a pronounced spiritual atmosphere. The busiest time of the year for Fu-an Temple annually is the birthday of Fu De Zheng Shen(福德正神) on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, when temple representatives and believers from across Taiwan flock to the temple, the number so great they spill out of the temple square, showing the importance of Dingkan Fu-an Temple in Fu De Zheng Shen belief in Taiwan.

Lovely hot springs and mud pools

A place well visiting when in Tainan or the neighbouring cities. There are lots of resorts offering pools and spas. Got by without speaking a word of Chinese and the locals all were warm and welcoming.

    Mud spa

Guangziling is a famous for its unique hot springs. Here, you can not only take a bath, but experience a mud spa. Although it is a resort area, there are not many tourists. So, you can really relax with local people. There are several hotels that offer one-day visit of their bath. Tongmao Hot Spring Hotel where I took a bath was not bad.

one of good hot spring places in Asia

    Traveler rating:5 2018-05

whole town is for hot spring. There are many hot spring places, mostly it is like hotel, so people book the room then enjoy the spa. But I pay a visit like day trip, so hard to find one day admission. Only 3 I found, then I chose the nearest one from the bus stop, which had promotion price for Thursday. Anyway, even if it was not promotion, it is worth to have experience in this spa. It would be more reasonable to stay one or couple of nights. one day trip was too far from Kaohsiung, and pricy in total.
