Art in ActionWe took the local train from Tainan to Hobi, which was straightforward. Then, a helpful taxi-driver pointed out where we could rent bicycles, as we exited to the left near the intersection. We gave the lady 1,000 NTD and cycled towards Tugo, a lovely flat and fairly quiet area. The art museum is next to the temple, and we were given free rein but were told that we needed to be out in an hour as some group had hired the place. The group, as it turned out, included one of the artists Guo Ren Wang, and people with camera. He asked if he could do some art-in-action splash-painting on our jeans. We agreed (of course, who wouldn't want some art on their jeans?!) and it turned out that the other people were a TV crew from Taipei. We helped gather leaves for lunch and then sat down to eat the local Tainan delicacy of milk-fish as well as self-sufficiently produced rice and pickled vegetables. It was an unexpected twist to our Taiwan adventure. The museum itself is mesmerizing, two of the artists have been living there and designing indoor and outdoor art for over ten years. It was lovely to simply sit down, look at the different pieces while butterflies flitted by, the birds sang and the bees hummed. A magical place.
TOGO, the special village you must to goThis is my second time to visited TOGO, it's a beautiful village with art works, I love art works of straw named "Ben-wan", he is so cute and huge, and I want to more close to him to take a picture, so I bought pass ticket for indoor arts. I though it's really cheap tour ticket, only$150 per people,21 pieces of artists and creative team art works. There are 17 exhibition field, and 10 of arts in indoor, another 7arts public in outdoor. Use pass card when you visit indoor art works. I spend all day in TOGO, no rush and enjoy every moment with my boyfriend.
