Introduce

Dakeng Leisure Farm (大坑休閒農場) was once a working livestock farm, but has now been converted into a leisure destination. A family of three generations live here, and entering the farm you can sense the family's warmth. Surrounded by mountains and covering a large area, the farm boasts a view of the sunrise over a sea of clouds that is not to be missed. Alongside the authentic village setting, a safe hiking footpath has been constructed around the top of the mountain, as well as sports leisure facilities. If guests are hungry after a hike, they will surely feel replenished after sampling the farm's rotisserie chicken and other delicacies. The picturesque European-style log cabin, hot and cold spring pools, and abundance of flowers and plants give the impression of a luxurious European scene. Lots of small animals can be seen roaming freely in the farm's meadow, making the farm seem like a tiny mountain utopia.

    A family-friendly farm-stay resort

    Traveler rating:5 2018-12

We stayed here on 11 December 2018. Dakeng Leisure Farm is basically a family business. It started as a chicken farm which transformed into a farm-stay resort based on the eco-sustainability concept. We enjoyed the food there which was a hundred percent locally-produced ingredients. For dinner we had roasted suckling pork, a local specialty dish. Kids, as well as some adults, will enjoy the outdoor facilities such as the aerial lift rope-way and rope bridge. There's also an observation deck which offers a 360 degree view of the surrounding mountains. An excellent spot for photographing sunrise and sunset. Other activities include strawberry picking at one of their nurseries, making of bamboo cicadas in their council hall, and setting off fireworks in the open area right beside their cypress restaurant.

    An experience

    Traveler rating:3 2018-12

Do not expect farm stay the likes of Australia,New Zealand, Korea etc. Perhaps the farm setup by previous generations was for livelihood but now it is more zoo-like tourist attraction... Let’s start with the positives... - The kids enjoyed the experience - The food is good (if you are open to local delicacies) - Good hospitality Negatives: - Serious need of upgrades (stuck in the 80s time warp) - Standard/ quality of rooms the likes of 1 star motels Recommendation: a day trip would be sufficient. If you intend to stay overnight, go with a group of friends to keep yourselves entertained

Nice place to stay in Tainan

    Traveler rating:4 2016-11

I must say that all of us enjoy the stay. The host family are all nice and helpful. We take the advice of a sunrise view at nearby hill and it was spectacular and therefore highly recommended. Though there were no nearby restaurants within walking distance but foods furnished by the resort is excellent. In fact it was so good that all members of my family decided to go back for second dinner after having one in previous night. In short, you will like it if you want to enjoy a slow life experience after a hustle city work.

    Man-made Nature Experience

    Traveler rating:4 2016-06

This is a mini B&B small resort-style built in a part of nature in Tainan. The tiny waterfall, exercise workoutstation, etc are man-made. Air is fresh; sidetrips to nearby farms are pretty interesting. Beware certain walking paths can be muddy after rain. Watch out for insects that got into your room. Bring along insect-repellant, sun-block and water bottle for your hike. Breakfast is widespread; from nearby farms. If you are a city person and wants stuff spick-and-span laid out, this might not be for you. But for a change, go for it.

    Food is awesome

    Traveler rating:4 2016-06

The food is exquisite, I loved them all. It's a good place for honeymoon actually because the room is big and very romantic. They have a swimming pool suitable for children also. There's a flying fox activity but you need to climb the hill which seemed like forever! I don't know why people complained about the room. Ours was clean and well kept. I only complained about the Wi-Fi because when we got there, the Wi-Fi was down. I can't live without internet.
