Tainan Theological College and Seminary (Former Tainan Theological College Dormitories and Chapel(臺南神學院(原台南神學校校舍暨禮拜堂))

Traveler rating:5 14 Reviews 4.6

Located in Tainan’s East District, Tainan Theological College was established in 1903. The tranquil atmosphere matches the theological college perfectly. The simple gray walls are dotted with fresh tiffany green arched wooden windows, adding a romantic touch to the European style building. The sun shines into the white classroom corridors, giving the College a sacred feel. The small fountain in the center of the building is a popular spot with tourists, the carp in the pool having a spiritual calming effect as they swim around in a leisurely way. On ordinary days the College is not open to tourists to allow students to study in peace and quiet. It is open to toursits on weekends.

Elegant building and old trees in Tainan Theological College And Seminary

    Traveler rating:5 2015-03

This location was the North Guild “Su Wan Li Garden” in Qing Dynasty, then sold to Presbyterian Church, and finally established Tainan Theological College And Seminary here. Due to less-development, most buildings and old trees can be retained. The main building was designed in Gothic architecture and Taiwanese traditional roof. Beautiful window types and wall decorations catch everyone’s eyes. Su Wan Li imported some trees to plant in this land to show off his ability and those trees are still alive now, so the age of camphor tree and Mexican Frangipani are over 300 years old. It was the backyard of famous merchant, green, quiet and leisure; when I sit on the bench under the old Mexican Frangipani, I believe it can be one of the top 10 beautiful scenery in Tainan.

    因為一把青,認識了神學院 這裡與其他人煙喧鬧的景點完全不同,來到這裡,享受的是它的幽靜,頓時讓人的心平靜下來
