Tayih Landis Tainan

Great room, great staff and excellent locationMy wife and I stayed for 3 nights so we could see our nephew play in the U12 World Baseball Championships and were pleasantly surprised at the large and comfortable room via a good deal on Expedia. The staff were excellent in accommodating our requests such as organising taxis to be sent to the Shan-Hwa baseball field which is miles out of town to pick up stranded spectators. One disappointment was the Executive Lounge which we had been excited about having access to until we found just bottled water, a few soft drinks and tea on offer. We would recommend the Tayih Landis Tainan and plan to go back again to do the sightseeing we never got around to doing during this trip.

Good location, free shuttle from THSRHotel is oldish, but generally clean and good size. Location is great for walking to tourist sites. It’s also a stone throw away from Bao An road where there’s many local food stores. Many of them are definitely worth trying. The free shuttle bus from THSR stop right outside the hotel. Taxi fare to the THSR is not too expensive anyway - NTD450 and takes 30mins.
Good location and clean roomTheir services are great. Good location as shopping mall and supermarket is close by. Rooms were clean and provided with enough equipments. So many kind of foods for breakfast and their breakfast were tasty. The only one thing to complain is their sound insulation (I used to woke up by the clock alarm sounds from the room next to mine) and sometimes heard baby crying from the next two rooms. Anyway, overall the hotel was good.
Fantastic location and great serviceA friend and I stayed over a Saturday night at the Tayih Landis, arriving before noon on Saturday and checking out Sunday afternoon. Great service and excellent location are the bywords for this hotel. We arrived at 11:30am, well before the 4:00 pm checkin, but our two bags were safely stored and we received a call from reception at 12:30 that our room was ready to be occupied. The concierge was extremely helpful with finding specialty restaurants and letting us know about the FREE shuttle from the Tainan THSR station, which is 26 km away from the West Central District. We paid NT$430 to reach the hotel by taxi on arrival but enjoyed the complimentary shuttle on the return. The Tayih Landis is extremely well situated for sightseeing. We were able to walk 20 minutes in various directions to take in the museum of judicial history, the Confucius temple grounds (sadly, the temple itself is closed for renovations), the Hayashi Department Store, and several other noteworthy temples. Twenty minutes in a different direction got us to Shennong Street, the Grand Mazu Temple, and lively street life at night. A 20-minute taxi ride got us to Anping District, and the fare was less than NT$200. Last but not least, the hotel's amenities are quite good. The double room we shared on the 16th floor was very comfortable and boasted a great view and sparkling marble bathroom with great water pressure. The breakfast buffet was very ample and featured many dishes. Next door to the hotel is a major department store (Mitsukoshi), and across the street is the Blueprint Creative Park. I would highly recommend this hotel for any visitors!
Marked 5-star hotel, but less than 3-star service. The room temperature was 24℃, and humidity was high, but the hotel had no air-conditioning, flagging with slogan of environmental protection and energy saving. Room is provided with very heavy duvet, which if used would be much too hot, but if not used, would be too cold. I had a very uncomfortable sleep for the night. When I checked out, the front desk staff charged my credit card for the full amount of pre-reauthorized amount they took in my check-in, which was much higher than my account dues. Fortunately I discovered the discrepancy before I signed the voucher, otherwise another confusion and trouble would be occurred. It's claimed and categorized as a five-Star hotel, but the service was far below that level.
