GUANY HUA HOTEL
Grimy hotel near train stationTo be fair, the Guang Hwa was perhaps one of the cheapest hotels I stayed at during my Taiwan trip. It was, however, a more than mediocre experience. Because of a centralized AC system you don't have control to turn up or down the temperature in your own room. AC also is very noisy. Cleanliness was so and so. Overall, the hotel looks in need of being redone from top to floor. It's way past its preservation date. Besides the price, the only other good thing is that it is only a five-minute walk to the train station.

Great location and satisfactoryOur group of 5 adults and 2 kids chose this hotel because of its low price and great location. I paid a little more than 1000NT for two nights (for me only)The room for two is very small, compare to its bathroom, The room for three is more specious with a small sofa. Room for 4 is the best so far, big bathroom and two double beds, Clean towels replacements are really appreciated. Friendly front-desk receptionist , and breakfast is included ( options of Chinese or western style), No coffee though, only black tea was served, The building itself is old but well- maintained. If you dun mind spending less and find a clean but old place to stay, this will be your choice. Overall, it's clean, very Taiwanese style. I think I might choose to stay with them next time,

Average.1. great location. just 5mins walk away from the Tainan Train Station. afterall, there is not much to visit in tainan so its good for tourists like me who just want to spend like a day there. 2. looks a bit worn out and old both from the outside and inside the room. but clean and neat. credits to the staff who's in charge of cleaning :) 3. nice service. when i requested for hot water in the mid night, they took me to the back end of their kitchen and gave me some really 'fresh' hot water right from the huge kettle. 4. the corridor is a bit scary at night due to insufficient lighting. 5. nicely priced so i will definitely stay there again if i revisit tainan in the future!

small but satisfactoryI found the Guang Hwa Hotel in the Rough Guide for Taiwan, and it's got its strengths and weaknesses. Got a cheaper room (no windows) over the Lunar New Year holiday so the prices were up (like they were everywhere else), I believe I paid 5000NT total for 5 people to stay in one bedroom for 3 nights (2 double beds, one extra mattress that was on the thin side). The room is clean, but small, and the minor inconvenience is that the bathroom doesn't have a door or a curtain so sometimes the water leaks out a little. The included breakfast was a set meal and wasn't delicious, but was edible, and you can hang out in the cafe because it's pretty much unattended and you don't need to pay in order to play board games there or anything. I noticed that some people paid by the hour there, which seems to make it on the sketchier side, but I was never uncomfortable there, just slightly cramped. The location is convenient to the Tainan station, and is within walking distance to sights such as the Confucius Temple, the City God Temple, and the park. The people who work the desk were not very well-informed about Lunar New Year events, which left something to be desired. Free wireless, but slow. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay there, but would try something new the next time I go to Tainan.
Très bien situéLa chambre est petite' sans vue sur l'extérieur et demande à être rafraîchie, tout comme la salle de bain. Le lit est bien. Le personnel est aimable et il est surtout très bien situé près de la gare. Je le conseille.
